Hi everyone

There was a copying error when I made the booklet for Puzzle 16, where one clue ended up in the wrong cell.

This puzzle booklet contains the correct Puzzle 16. Apologies.

Evening all

Round 5 is now closed. Thanks to Neil for test solving - we seemed to end up with a unique set of puzzles this time. The One Star Star Battle Nanro proved to be quite a test but there were plenty of puzzles which separated the group. Maurice managed to sidestep the problems and got them all out in under an hour. Liane also returned to form with an excellent set to keep her chances mathematically alive.

Division B is in blue, C in red.

Maurice Blount - 74 points - 55m36
AJ Moore - 74 points - 79m20

Liane Robinson - 74 points - 81m39
Thomas Powell - 74 points - 92m55
Jeffrey Dick - 74 points - 107m47

Michael Collins - 66 points - 70m10
Eva Myers - 65 points - 80m16

Paul Smith - 56 points - 85m37
Emma McCaughan - 54 points - 54m06

Division C goes right to the wire - whoever scores higher out of Thomas and Jeff in Round 6 will be the winner of Division C, barring Liane managing to get a few newcomers in between her and these two.

Division B is also a two horse race but AJ needs to get someone between him and Maurice to take the title.

Round 6 is the next Puzzle Ramayan, scheduled for 3rd-8th June.

Nice one Liane!

Yeah, the star battle one had me for 45 minutes... It's a neat idea for a puzzle, and I liked it though.

This next round will be intense.

Thanks Jeffery, I had a good think on that one what I was going to do for my notation after I'd looked at the example.

The season is now over!

Division C ended up very close indeed. Liane just edged the final round, and came within one point of the title, but Thomas squeaked past Jeff to win the title.

Liane - 28.5 points
Paul - 26 points (faster time)
Thomas - 26 points (slower time)
Jeff - 16.9 points

Division B required AJ to beat Maurice by two places to take the title, and he did just that, recovering what was a 5 point deficit after the first two rounds. Well done AJ.

AJ - 40.2 points
Michael - 38.7 points
Maurice - 32.3 points
Eva - 20 points

Wow, that really did end up a close thing. I thought the final round puzzles would be up my street but broke quite a few of them.

Thanks for all your work organising the leagues Adam, it was fun to play.

Seconded. Great fun.
But it looks like a tie to me, unless there's some hidden extra scoring going on.
Already looking forward to next time (not to mention the UKPC).
Thanks again for organising, Adam.

In the event of a tie, the score in the latest round is the tie breaker.

Thanks Adam for organising this again. I thought I'd done really badly on that last round - nothing seemed to go right at all. Been ploughing through the puzzles afterwards, but they're on the back burner now as more important things to do - preparation for the UKPC.
