Re: croco-puzzle

Well done on yesterday's puzzles Tom/Steve ! Berni: Whilst solving today's kropki, on my mac, I noticed that I was no longer able to mark candidates by pressing alt-3 to get the hash #. I've found that feature invaluable in solving the harder kropki puzzles that have appeared before and this made th...

Re: App for Alzheimers

Okay, so I thought I would give this a try but... 1. Register Screen just sits there saying 'Please Wait'. No idea of progress... The 'Continue' button makes you feel a bit better that it hasn't completely crashed, but does nothing. Upon quickly pressing it a few times a 'Already registered' message...

Re: croco-puzzle

... apollo1001 has strapped on his first belt for 20th kyu! (They'll start to roll in much more quickly now, Adam...) Thanks Chris! (and all). It's been a fun two months getting that red line off the ground, and I have really enjoyed being able to do so whilst watching some others' times in awe - v...

Re: HALAS league tournement

Just finished this and am now regretting setting aside a 6 hour block as my brain hurts and functioned less and less as time went on. Plenty of puzzles to take a look at in a relaxed environment though! Particularly enjoyed Puzzle 1 and Sudoku 1 if people wanted to have a last minute attempt at eith...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Congrats! I was pleased with my time, but you trounced me  Now you just need to repeat that every time one comes up and you'll start flying up the rankings. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the Northern/Southern UK grudge match in the league when the teams face off...

Re: Kropki

Ignoring the above discussion on what type of puzzle this is, I would be more interested in some tips for this puzzle type. Having seen my first of these only a few moments ago on croco-puzzle, I was more than a little flummoxed for about 15 minutes on how to even start! After this time, I had deduc...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Thanks both. It sounds likely that this is what happened - I was working on my mac tethered through the iphone, so the connection could have been intermittent. A little frustration with the less-than-optimal time certainly led to a quick detour via the highscores to see the affects... Great tip abou...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Hi All. I'm interested in how quickly the highscore table is updated on crocopuzzle, as I completed today's first double block in 8:53, and when I checked the high scores it didn't appear. Thinking it hadn't registered, I went back and did it again (this time 4:53). After the 2nd attempt I checked t...

Re: Slalom (aka Gokigen)

Oooh, fabulous thread guys! I was deducing many of these facts yesterday from scratch in the puzzle, and wondered if we had a central set of 'standards' to look out for. I'll remember to search the forum in future before attempting any puzzle type!

Re: Croco-Liga team competition, starting in September 2012

Although I'm technically south UK (somerset), and not totally familiar with all the croco-puzzles yet, I'd still love to help make up numbers if either team (north/south) wants an extra competitor. Let me know if you want me to tackle any...

This looked like fun even though I have joined the party too late. Could you add me to the stats page please Alan so I can gauge how much I need to improve! Thanks.

Hi All Very pleased to stumble upon this site and find a community of puzzlers. I used to enjoy the PQRST competitions a few years back, but it has been a while since I have regularly done puzzles. I was also impressed to see your croco-ladder going on which has convinced me to wade through the germ...
