Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Yea, well I didn't want to give any points away easily but now that I have solved the Starry Night of yesterday I can say that Dataman was faster anyway, so yeah, it didn't matter much but it was still hugely annoying at the time.

Unfortunately it's all over for me as this idiotic thing just doesn't let me in: 'There have been too many failed login attempts. This account has been temporarily blocked for security reasons. Please try again in half an hour.'

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Wow, very nice -- new week, new puzzles, new opponent & I'm still in it 8-) Lucky me, didn't expect to win by solving just 4 puzzles (Monday to Friday)! Anyway, I'm excited by the prospect of competing against Dataman and I am hoping for all 3 sudokus to appear this week (and some of them more than ...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Exactly. That's why I was wondering what was going on with him...as he hasn't told he would be away or anything, he's kinda disappeared :?
Good for me though, 2nd time in it and I won't be relegated, not that I'm happy to win this way but I'm happy to stay up and to get another chance.

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Okay, missed the U-bahn of yesterday due to watching football again but now that I have solved Koralle (Coral) it's safe to say I have beaten afcwarren!! Not sure what's going on with him but I am quite sure it's a huge surprise that he'll be relegated.

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Well, I'm sorry I ruined your possibly good result in the highscore table :( Anyway, for me it was really tough and I never got it solved, so I would love some tips on how to solve slaloms better. I tried to use those in the rules & tips board under slalom tips but they helped me to get just less th...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

For me the U-bahn defo wasn't easy, probably because I hadn't solved any of them before and therefore didn't get going! ;) Well, at least I wasn't last. EDIT: Solved the snakes late, so giving afcwarren a chance to equalize tomorrow. They were new for me but they were okay (solvable without spending...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

I'm surprised you think it's funny. Over 100 people spent an average of 20-30 minutes on that puzzle. If a current puzzle is revealed in any way, on any public forum, no matter how briefly, that might help anyone else, the puzzle is scrapped, and the results wiped (quite rightly). Don't do it again...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Tried to solve today's Slalom but spent hours on it without any success trying to guess pretty much all the cells, which obviously didn't help to get it solved (I got everything filled in few times but always with mistakes). Then checked out the tips here on the forum and got about half of it solved...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Achieved my best performance and daily rating -- 1353 -- yesterday! :D Quite narrowly (by 5 secs) missed out on top 200, finished 208., which is my 2nd best result so far. And my comparison sudoku rating is now 367 (my best game rating on CrocoPuzzle), which I'm quite happy with as I've only solved ...

Re: Croco Puzzle rules.

That would be good! I got 7 fehlversuch's mainly due to this inaccuracy as I did it all wrong (I thought it could be the other way around but it was 50-50, so I went for the one that seemed more obvious reading the rules). Before today I had only had 2 of them altogether in all puzzles I had solved.

Masyu ( example ) Instructions: Draw a single loop, traveling horizontally and vertically, connecting the centers of the cells. The loop must pass through every cell containing a circle ("pearl"). At each cell containing a black pearl, the loop must make a 90-degree turn, and must travel straight f...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

So, on the last day of last week's competition we had domino and area sums, which were both new for me. That considered, I'd say I managed to get an okay result in area sums but I didn't stand a chance against PuzzleScot. On other days I tried not to check his times before I started to solve because...

Re: Croco Puzzle rules.

Oh, so it probably said sth like "Diagonal berühren nicht erlaubt" on the initializing screen, which as I now understand means "Touching diagonals not allowed". LoL, I guess I gotta try to remember a couple of words like verboten, erlaubt and berühren then! :D And use Google Translate when possible....

Re: Croco Puzzle rules.

If I don't know the numbers I need to enter then there are various options e.g. I could use 3 numbers (1+2+3) to make up 6 but I could also use 2 (4+2 or 5+1). That's why I would have saved a considerable amount of time if I knew that I didn't have to use all of them (the point is I tried to use all...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Got a nice time like 33:33 in yesterday's Killer Sudoku, which gave me my best daily rating so far -- 437 -- and also my best ranking -- 245. I'd say not bad considering it's the 2nd one of those I have solved and my mate called me twice while I was solving, so probably lost ~5 mins there :P EDIT: U...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Whew, here we go then! 8-) Probably need a good number of sudokus among next week's puzzles and few mistakes from my opponent to have any winning chances (or to not get whitewashed) but we'll see. Okay, I just registered on the LMI website and will give it a try if possible. But as I understand if I...

Re: Any interest in a UK croco-puzzle ladder?

Wow, just solved the Arukone and gotta say it's defo the easiest puzzle I've solved so far on CrocoPuzzle. Kinda expected sth more difficult, so didn't really go for it at full speed but still beat drsteve  Admittedly he has a Felversuch though, otherwise I wouldn't have had a chance. EDIT:...

Re: Croco Puzzle rules.

Hmm, okay, but for me they defo aren't complete as the above is not mentioned in those rules, which meant I thought I have to use all 7 numbers in a column/row at first when I started to solve yesterday's Japanese Sums on CrocoPuzzle. Obviously, that was wrong, so I spent significantly more time tha...

Re: Croco Puzzle rules.

I would add to Japanese Sums that you don't need to enter all the numbers available into every column/row, i.e. if you have numbers 1-7, you don't necessarily need to use all of them in a column/row.
