Re: croco-puzzle

Another option might be the puzzle wiki of the Logic Masters Germany: http://wiki.logic-masters.de/index.php?title=Kategorie:Haupträtselart/de. I linked the German version of the wiki so that you can easier find the puzzle you're looking for. Then hopefully there's an English version you can switch ...

Re: croco-puzzle

I wonder if it would be interesting (well, to begin with, I'll start with practically possible) to try to declare whether certain types of puzzles correlate well with each other? I'm relatively good at Kakuro, Killer Sudoku, the other one like Killer Sudoku but where you can repeat numbers in a cel...

Most certainly you ended up using another color with which you are unable to fill cells that contain numbers of a different color (or a candidate list of another color). If you were also unable to fill empty cells I suspect a bug there...

Any tips? There is a possibility to set the size of the applet in your settings. They can be found in the tab "Benutzerkonto" (user account). If it is not directly shown when selecting this tab, the German word for settings is "Einstellungen". The topic you should be looking for is "Appletabmessung...

I look forward to a slightly more in-depth attack on the harder puzzles; the easier skyscraper took me about 20 minutes (though I'm not great at them) and the harder skyscraper has defeated me for now. Well, I'm pretty sure the hard one has more than one solution. I have found already two and that'...

Re: croco-puzzle

Is there a way of turning blue guesses black once the guess is proved correct? I lost a lot of time on this. Moral of the story is probably not to guess. Yes, there is. Select the color which you want to change into another one and click on the "Färben"-button beside the color into which you want t...

yes, in GMT.
So all you have to do is taking the difference between current time and the end time... Or am I missing something?

Re: croco-puzzle

Clarification - are players penalised for not starting a puzzle, or missing days? Neither. The only "penalty" would be that it takes longer until you reach your optimum. Also other players might look a little bit sceptically if you always skip the same type of puzzles. I'd say if you solve just for...

Re: croco-puzzle

More subtle cheaters would be harder to detect - but I am less worried about these. Somebody with a personality that makes them likely to put effort into subtle cheating is (at least in my mind) more likely to be interested in the puzzles and less likely to bother with cheating. Over time, I think ...

What's the deal with the account named 'ufo'? Has it affected everyone's scores? When the top solution time changes it always affects everyones score. My guess would be that it's a second nick of someone (uvo already stated he has nothing to do with it). As berni is currently having holidays it mig...

Re: croco-puzzle

FzR has me at 1799 now (which is the highest I've seen it) but Tagesrating has me working for the last 30 puzzles at 1k-2k level = 1950 Which is more realistic? Probably the latter one. My estimated rating was 200+ too low. At that time the Tagesrating didn't exist so I can make no guesses about it...

Re: Gokigen / Slalom puzzles

There's another thing that helps using Chris' tip more often: For orthogonal connections 2s work like "relais" or however you might call that. So when there is something like 3223 the two 3s behave just as if they are directly beside each other: >3223< The same is true for two 1s and as far as I see...

To share another one I already know by hard from solving them in berni's "Denksel":

The diagonally adjacent 1s inside the diagram are not connected as they would force a separated area.

'Initialiseren' starts the timer for the day's puzzle (on the server). Even if you quit the app, go away, and come back, your time has already started counting. This is true, but as far as I understood it, the server time is a backup which is only used when the user is closing the applet after clic...

Hmm, after there are some reports of weird color-behaviour I'd say there is a bug hidden there. But so far berni has not found him. So maybe best mail him with as much details as possible so that he might be able to find the bug faster. Apart from that in such a case you can always try to click "Rüc...

Well, no Fehlversuche is not that surprising as there are still very few solutions. And with the given solutions times most people completely check their solution before submitting it. Plus there is a logical solving path, although certainly not obvious. That your solution doesn't appear in the list...

Field c3r4 must be empty because otherwise there'd be no two stars in the top middle box. Fields c1/2r7 must be empty because there are three areas with six stars for the lower three rows. Field c5r4 or c6r4 must contain a star, as must c5r8, c5r9 and c6r9 so that there are 4 stars in the columns 5 ...

Re: Help with diagram puzzle

I fail to see a logical entry point. There are some digits that can be ruled out for some circles but not enough for a certain start. I'd guess you'll have to use trial and error. Here are my thoughts for some circles: - the black circle must contain one of the numbers 0,4,6,7,8,9 as these are the o...

It's more or less free for anything.
